Help with identifying and saving birds

Birds helps you discover and remember the birds you see.

If you have a question, encounter a problem, or want to share feedback, we're here to help.

How do I identify a bird?

Open Birds, take a photograph or choose one from your photo library.

Birds will analyze the photograph and suggest an identification. You can then add the bird to your personal collection.

Why couldn't Birds identify my photograph?

Bird identification isn't always perfect.

For better results, try a clear photograph where the bird is visible. Identification also requires an internet connection.

Where are my saved birds stored?

Your bird collection is stored locally on your device.

You don't need an account to use Birds. Your saved collection does not automatically transfer between devices.

Can I delete a saved bird?

Yes. You can remove birds from your collection within the app.

Does Birds require an internet connection?

Yes, an internet connection is required to identify birds. You can view your locally saved collection without one.

How accurate is identification?

Birds uses AI to suggest species based on photographs. Results may occasionally be incorrect, especially with distant, blurry, or visually similar birds.
